Things to do in Pattaya

  • 1 ปี ที่ผ่านมา

We all know Pattaya for it’s nightlife, walking street, beaches and perhaps we have even experienced a few wet days in it’s rainy season.

Today I want to take you on a Journey to live a day in Pattaya not like a tourist but a local.

1.Breakfast: First things first.. When we wake up in the morning all we usually think about is what we are going to eat for breakfast. Well you’re lucky to be in Thailand today because kao niew moo yang is going to become your all time favorite breakfast! Yes you can’t start a perfect Thai day without grilled pork and sticky rice. So enjoy your early morning on the beach, you can find so many street vendors selling this amazing breakfast, but don’t be late they usually sell fast.

2.The Shopping mall culture: It’s not very clear whether it is because of the hot climate in Thailand or Thai people really enjoy their shopping mall culture, either way there are so many beautiful looking malls in Thailand that you can’t help but to visit. Terminal 21 Pattaya is a great example.. In Thailand we like to spend some time to just relax and enjoy the air condition inside the malls. We often go there with our friends to have lunch, take photos, watch movies at the theater (SF cinema, Major cineplex), and do some shopping along the way.

3. Thai Tea: You recognize an Australian for their love of Vegemite and Thongs, so it is with Thai people and their love for Chili and…. wait for it…. Iced tea! It may sound silly but a simple drink like tea can teach you so many things about the culture of a country. Thai people enjoy a laid back care free life and somehow you can notice this in every detail of their lives… In this case; their love for Iced tea. we enjoy Iced tea, Iced coffee, Iced anything.. and believe me you too will become an Iced drink lover if you live in Thailand for a while.. Yeah it’s all about the climate baby! So don’t forget to try some of these drinks today, Thai Iced  tea, Iced Matcha or green tea, Iced cappuccino, Iced Americano.. You can get them from a street vendor or for a better taste visit one of Café Amazon branches in the city. You can also order them from 7 eleven.

4. Visit a Thai style barbeque party: Finding local friends as a tourist may seem like a hard task in any other country but not here in Thailand, Yay! your lucky again for the second time! try talking to Thai people they are usually very friendly and you can make friends with them easily, it helps to break the Ice if you know a word or two in Thai but It’s also Okay if you don’t. They will be glad to become your friend. If you’re lucky again for the third time! you will be able to visit your friends house for dinner and meet their family, what I mean is that you have an encounter with the simple local people and see their kindness as they invite you to their house and prepare all kinds of delicious Thai foods for you to enjoy. I personally think Thai people live a very spiritual life, they can teach us how to be happy with all that we have and enjoy the small but precious moments in life that we would normally ignore.

Happy traveling,
